Edward Sylvan is a Canadian entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Sycamore Entertainment Group Inc. and its streaming platform SEGI TV. He is among a select group of Black executives who have founded, own and control a publicly traded company.
Sycamore Entertainment Group acquires both domestic and international rights to films for release in movie theatres and other markets, including video on demand. SEGI TV is the Over The Top streaming platform owned and operated by parent company Sycamore EntertainmentGroup.
Edward Sylvan took its first film, The Eye of the Storm, an award-winning film, on an Academy awards campaign which garnered global recognition. Edward sponsored several major motorsports disciplines including Indycar, IMSA, NASCAR and Extreme E. As a stock trader, Edward was the first rights holder in Canada of Cybedrtrader, the Small Order Execution System software which was used to execute trades on NASDAQ. Edward is a writer and contributor to Authority Magazine.
The motivation behind Sycamore is to assist underrepresented content creators to get their projects made and distributed profitably, while ensuring that the creators are fairly compensated while maintaining ownership of their work
